The 1^st Annual Georgia Orthopaedic Trauma Symposium was held on Friday, September 7, 2007, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.  The one-day educational conference was designed for orthopaedic physicians and allied health personnel and provided an overview of controversial orthopaedic trauma cases and fracture reconstruction cases. 

Resurgens Orthopaedics hosted the conference, and through a joint sponsorship with the Medical Association of Georgia Institute for Excellence in Medicine (MAG Institute) was able to provide 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 credits to attending physicians.

Douglas W. Lundy, MD, FACS, an orthopaedic trauma surgeon with Resurgens Orthopaedics, served as the course director.  The course keynote speaker was Larry Marsh, MD, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Iowa College of Medicine.  The course faculty included the following Resurgens physicians:  Mary Jo Albert, MD, Richard Cohen, MD, David Covall, MD, and Jon Minter, DO.  The remaining course faculty was comprised of Thomas Moore, MD, from Emory Healthcare, Dan Schlatterer, DO, from Atlanta Medical Center, Michael Tucker, MD, from the University of South Carolina, and Todd Zeigler, MD, from Atlanta Orthopedics.
