Patient Education

The physicians and staff of Resurgens Spine Center strive to provide our patients with the most up-to-date information in spine care.  The menu to the left lists the patient education pages on our site which will assist you in understanding more about back and neck disorders.  Many of our topics include interactive animations.

These animations require the Macromedia Flash and/or Shockwave players.

Within the Spinal Conditions and Anatomy page you will find information on spinal anatomy, as well as educational pages covering many spinal disorders such as muscle strain, herniated disc, stenosis, and disc degeneration.

The Diagnostic Tests section has information on imaging studies such as MRI, CT, and myeologram, as well as other tests including discography and EMG - nerve conduction studies.

Our Conservative Treatment page will educate you on treatments including medications, ice and heat therapy, and physical therapy.

The Injections and Non-Surgical Procedures page includes information on all of the procedures performed by our physiatrists (non-surgical spine physicians) at Resurgens Spine Center.  These procedures include epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, nerve blocks, and other pain-relieving procedures.

The Surgical Procedures pages will educate you on the latest advancements used by the surgeons at Resurgens Spine Center including minimally invasive surgical techniques and motion-preserving technologies such as artificial disc replacement.

The Frequently Asked Questions page answers many of the questions asked by our patients such as, “what is the difference between an orthopaedic surgeon and a neurosurgeon”, and “what type of mattress should I buy”.
